Enrollment Deadline: 1 March 2025

Participants will report percentages of any or all of the specified elements in each sample, including copper (Cu), iron (Fe), aluminum (Al), silicon (Si), manganese (Mn), and magnesium (Mg). Wet or instrument analysis may be performed for all elements, and a different method may be used for each element. Testing is not conducted in accordance with any particular method, but examples of methods that can be used include ASTM E34, ASTM E1251, and ISO 3980.

Sample Description: Two solid discs, made from either similar aluminum grades or two different heats of the same grade. The discs are approximately 35 mm in diameter and 8 mm in thickness, and each sample is pre-tested for homogeneity.

Samples ship in May and November for a total of two shipments.

Additional Information: Other elements such as chromium (Cr), titanium (Ti), and zinc (Zn) vary from cycle to cycle depending on the grades used.
