Enrollment Deadline: 1 December 2024
Participants will report percentages of any or all of the specified elements in each sample, including carbon (C), manganese (Mn), phosphorus (P), sulfur (S), silicon (Si), copper (Cu), nickel (Ni), chromium (Cr), molybdenum (Mo), and aluminum (Al). Wet or instrument analysis may be performed for all elements, and a different method may be used for each element. Testing is not conducted in accordance with any particular method, but examples of methods that can be used include ASTM E322, ASTM E415, ASTM E1019, and ASTM E1085.
Sample Description: Two solid discs, made from either similar alloys or different heats of the same alloy. The discs are approximately 35 mm in diameter and 8 mm in thickness, and each sample is pre-tested for homogeneity.
Samples ship in February and August for a total of two shipments.
Additional Information: Other elements may be included depending on the alloy or alloys used.
