This test is focused on the needs of paternity laboratory examiners and forensic casework examiners working paternity cases. Testing sets will typically consist of a mother, child, and two alleged fathers. Participants may report results for STR and YSTR analyses as well as provide statistical calculations and relationship associations. This test also contains an optional kinship exercise consisting of profiles and a proposed relationship for evaluation. Sample sets will contain dried blood stains provided on a choice of substrates.
Choose between sample sets on FTA™ Micro Cards (Test 5872) or swab substrates (Test 5877). Three testing cycles will be offered each year to meet AABB requirements. The first testing cycle includes 5870 and 5875. The second testing cycle includes 5871 and 5876.
Blood standards provided are sourced from the same donors for both formats, but differ from those that comprise the tests offered in the first and second test cycles.
This test is included on CTS' Scope of Accreditation to ISO/IEC 17043.
Samples ship in August. Tests 5872 and 5877 are released at the same time and reporting aspects are combined.
Enrollment deadline: 15 June 2025
