This test was designed to allow participants to assess their proficiency in the analysis of buccal samples by means of DNA profiling. Participants may report results for STR and YSTR analyses. Known saliva standards are available on a choice of substrates.

Choose between known saliva standards on FTA™ Indicating Micro Cards (Test 5843), Bode Buccal® DNA Collectors (Test 5844), or Swabs (Test 5845). This test can be paired with any test offered in the first half of the year; 5840, 5841 or 5842, to meet FBI QAS test frequency requirements.

Saliva standards provided are sourced from the same donors as those provided in tests 5844 and 5845, but differ from those that comprise the tests offered in the first half of the year; 5840, 5841, and 5842.

This test is included on CTS' Scope of Accreditation to ISO/IEC 17043.

Samples ship in July. Tests 5843, 5844, and 5845 are released at the same time and reporting aspects are combined.
