These tests involve the examination and comparison of questioned footwear impressions to known shoes. A variety of substrates (such as paper, tile, wood, and drywall) are combined with different imprint media (blood, ink, paint, etc.) for examination and comparison. Samples consist of high-resolution images of questioned imprints/impressions, inked known exemplars of the suspect shoe sole(s), and the suspect shoe sole(s). Results are reported using the SWGTREAD 7-point scale of conclusions.
