Participants are asked to qualitatively analyze three samples consisting of 500 mg of plant material and identify any samples that are positive for marihuana (marijuana, cannabis). Participants are required to report whether marihuana was identified in each sample. Quantitative results for the concentration, including uncertainty determinations, of THC will be gathered. Controlled and non-controlled plant material samples are used.
U.S. laboratories must provide a DEA registration number; enrollment will not be processed without it.
International laboratories will be notified via e-mail of the quantity of marihuana to be shipped, and the deadline for receiving the appropriate paperwork. Therefore, you must provide CTS with a reliable and secure e-mail address for a contact within your laboratory who will NOT be doing the testing. CTS will then request: 1) an original import permit, if required by your country; and 2) an original signed statement from the laboratory indicating that the drug samples will be used for scientific purposes only and will not be re-exported from the country of destination. CTS cannot ship your Marihuana Identification and THC Quantitation order without receiving both of those items.
While this test is open to laboratories worldwide, non-U.S. laboratories must determine if there are any restrictions on the importation of plant material into their countries, as well as be prepared to pay any additional duties and/or taxes for the importation of this material. Also, plant material shipments not accepted for delivery or refused entry into a country are automatically destroyed; all disposal costs will be billed to your laboratory.
This test is included on CTS' Scope of Accreditation to ISO/IEC 17043.
Samples ship in June.
Enrollment deadline: 1 November 2024
