Participants will compare questioned latent prints with sets of inked known prints.

Sample Description: A digitally downloadable .tif file of 8-12 latent prints with four sets of inked exemplar prints at 1000 dpi resolution. The latent prints may consist of any part of the hand, palms to tips. Due to large file sizes, advanced photo image software may be required to open and view these images. With tests consisting of digital test materials, participants are not limited to only on-screen comparisons and may use any other method; however, due to differences in printing technology, CTS cannot guarantee the quality of images printed from digital media. The images are the same as those used in Test 5161 but different from those used in Test 5171/5. Reporting aspects are combined with Test 5161.

Digital test materials are made available in January.

Additional Information: Digitally downloadable test materials, as well as response forms for all test formats, are only available on www.cts-portal.com. The information necessary to access the test materials will be provided via email to the primary contact on file on the day of the test release.

This test is included on CTS' Scope of Accreditation to ISO/IEC 17043.
