Enrollment Deadline: 24 July 2025

Participants will test samples at room temperature and report the absorbed energy. ASTM E23 and ISO 148 are referenced.

Sample Description: Two sets of three round steel samples, typically made from AISI 4340 steel, with a 1" diameter and 3" length, for a total of six samples. CTS will rotate through samples with a variety of energy levels from year to year.

Samples ship in November for a total of one shipment.

Additional Information: Machining capability to prepare the samples for testing is required; refer to the standard for the specimen diagram.

This test is included on CTS' Scope of Accreditation to ISO/IEC 17043.
